Bill overview
This bill, the Fair Housing Improvement Act of 2025, amends the Fair Housing Act to explicitly prohibit discrimination based on a person’s source of income, veteran status, or military status. It expands the definition of ‘source of income’ to include various forms of housing assistance and other income sources. The bill also clarifies that providing services to individuals receiving housing assistance is not prohibited and updates references to protected classes within several sections of the Fair Housing Act and the Civil Rights Act of 1968.
