Bill overview
This bill establishes a pilot program within the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to veterans with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through community care providers. The program will operate in two selected Veterans Integrated Service Networks and require participating medical facilities to meet specific accreditation standards. Additionally, the bill creates a fund supported by donations to cover the costs of HBOT and mandates a report from the Comptroller General assessing the effectiveness of HBOT in treating these conditions, along with an extension to a pension payment limit.
