Bill overview
The Prospect Act aims to expand access to affordable infant and toddler care for students at community colleges and minority-serving institutions. It does this by establishing competitive grants for planning, access, impact, and pipeline initiatives. These grants will support the development of child care programs, train early childhood educators, and address the shortage of child care providers, particularly in underserved communities. The bill also seeks to improve the support for student parents and strengthen the workforce pipeline for infant and toddler care.
