Bill overview
The Let's Get to Work Act of 2025 modifies the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and public housing programs by expanding work requirements for able-bodied adults without dependents (ABAWDs). Specifically, the bill raises the age at which ABAWDs are subject to work requirements from 55 to 60, and restricts the exemption for households with dependent children to those under 6 years old. It also allows SNAP recipients with dependent children to receive benefits for up to 6 months over a 36-month period without meeting work requirements if they are married to a compliant spouse. Finally, the bill extends SNAP work requirements to families living in public housing and those receiving tenant-based rental assistance.
