Bill overview
The Food Secure Strikers Act of 2025 aims to protect the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligibility for workers who go on strike and their families. Currently, SNAP eligibility can be restricted if a household member is on strike or if a government employee is dismissed for striking. This bill would eliminate these restrictions, allowing striking workers and their households, as well as dismissed government employees who strike, to maintain their SNAP benefits if they otherwise qualify.
