Bill overview
This bill allows the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to directly collect registration fees from organizations involved in organ transplantation (the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network) for each transplant candidate listed. These fees will be used to support the operation of the OPTN and will be publicly reported. The bill also directs the Government Accountability Office to review the fees and their impact, and encourages the integration of electronic health records to improve organ donation processes.
