Bill overview
This bill permanently authorizes the Secretary of Health and Human Services to collect fees from organ procurement organizations (OPOs) participating in the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN). These fees will be used to support the operation of the OPTN and will be transparently tracked and reported. The bill also directs the OPTN to establish a dashboard displaying transplant statistics and requires a review of the fee collection process by the Government Accountability Office.
