Bill overview
The Enhance Access to SNAP Act of 2025 aims to expand eligibility for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to include more college students. Currently, students aged 18-49 face restrictions on SNAP participation, with limited exceptions. This bill removes these restrictions, allowing students enrolled at least half-time in recognized schools, training programs, or institutions of higher education to qualify for SNAP benefits. It also clarifies that students should be considered individual households for SNAP purposes, rather than residents of the institution they attend.
