Bill overview
This bill, the PREVENT DIABETES Act, aims to expand access to diabetes prevention programs by allowing virtual providers to participate in the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP) Expanded Model. Starting in 2026, Medicare will allow for diabetes prevention programs delivered remotely through online platforms, provided certain conditions are met. The bill also removes restrictions on individuals enrolling in the MDPP multiple times and gives the Secretary of Health and Human Services the authority to implement these changes.
