Bill overview
The Healthy Start Reauthorization Act of 2026 aims to extend and maintain funding for the Healthy Start Initiative, a program designed to improve the health and well-being of pregnant women, new mothers, and young children. This bill specifically reauthorizes the initiative by increasing the annual appropriation to $145 million for five years, from 2026 through 2030. The goal is to support evidence-based strategies that address critical health disparities and promote healthy pregnancies and early childhood development. It ensures continued support for programs focused on preventing premature births and improving maternal and child health outcomes.
