The Taskforce for Recognizing and Averting Payment Scams Act (TRAPS Act) establishes a Task Force within the Treasury Department to combat increasingly sophisticated payment scams. This Task Force will analyze current trends, identify prevention methods, and make recommendations to improve consumer protection efforts. It will also coordinate with various government agencies and industry stakeholders to investigate and prosecute scammers and educate the public about these threats.
