Bill overview
The HOME Expansion Act amends the HOME Investment Partnerships Program to allow participating jurisdictions to use funds for infrastructure improvements, such as water and sewer lines, in non-entitlement areas. It also modifies eligibility requirements for affordable homeownership housing, increasing the maximum allowable income for homebuyers and creating exceptions for military members and heirs of deceased owners. The bill requires the Department of Housing and Urban Development to create rules implementing these changes.
