The Service Dogs Assisting Veterans Act of 2025 (SAVES Act) aims to help nonprofit organizations provide service dogs to eligible veterans. The Department of Veterans Affairs will establish a pilot program to award grants to these organizations, allowing them to train and match service dogs with veterans who have disabilities or conditions like PTSD, blindness, or mobility issues. The grants can’t exceed $2 million and must include provisions for veterinary care and transparency regarding funding.
