Bill overview
This bill, the Veterans Prosthetics Advancement and Reform Act, aims to improve the way the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides prosthetic and rehabilitative care to veterans. It establishes a ‘Formulary’ – a list of approved prosthetic and rehabilitative items and services – to ensure veterans have access to necessary care and to promote efficient management of these resources. The bill also requires the VA to actively solicit feedback from veterans and the public, regularly update the Formulary, and create a process for clinicians to request items not on the list when medically appropriate.
