Bill overview
This bill, the Medicare Advantage Prompt Pay Act, aims to improve payment timeliness for healthcare providers working with Medicare Advantage plans. It amends existing Medicare regulations to require these plans to pay at least 95% of clean claims submitted by in-network and out-of-network providers within 14 or 30 days, depending on the submission method. The bill also establishes civil money penalties for non-compliance and mandates that Medicare Advantage plans report detailed data on their prompt payment performance to the government.
