Bill overview
The Reducing Arbitrary Barriers to Apprenticeship Act of 2026 aims to make it easier for veterans and other eligible individuals to pursue apprenticeships and on-the-job training programs. Specifically, the bill modifies existing federal education assistance programs – including those for Post-9/11 veterans, the All-Volunteer Force, and members of the Selected Reserve – to provide 100% of the monthly educational assistance allowance for these programs. It also removes a minimum attendance requirement for apprenticeships in the construction industry and exempts certain construction occupations from these requirements.
