Overview
This bill, the Sloan Canyon Conservation and Lateral Pipeline Act, expands the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area in Nevada by approximately 9,290 acres. It also grants the Southern Nevada Water Authority the rights to construct a water pipeline and related facilities across the conservation area and surrounding BLM land. The bill includes provisions for geotechnical investigations, excavation and disposal of materials, and establishes a memorandum of understanding between the BLM and the SNWA regarding disposal sites for excavated materials, while ensuring the pipeline construction doesn't permanently harm conservation area resources or designated wilderness areas.
