Bill overview
This bill, the Secure Rural Schools Reauthorization Act of 2025, extends and modifies the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000. It extends payments to states and counties with federal land through 2026, provides for payments for fiscal years 2024 and 2025, and extends the ability of counties to initiate projects using these funds through 2028. The bill also adjusts how payments are distributed to counties and extends the authority of resource advisory committees to propose projects.
