Bill overview
The Health Workforce Innovation Act aims to expand the supply of allied health professionals, particularly in underserved communities and rural areas. It establishes a new program called the Health Care Workforce Innovation Program that will provide grants to eligible organizations – such as Federally qualified health centers and rural clinics – to develop and implement innovative, community-driven training models. These models will focus on training individuals from underserved backgrounds and improving access to healthcare in these areas, with a minimum duration of three years.
