Bill overview
This bill, the Health Care Affordability Act of 2025, would make permanent the changes to health insurance subsidies enacted by the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Acts. Specifically, it would eliminate the income limit that previously restricted eligibility for premium tax credits, allowing more people with higher incomes to qualify for assistance. It would also permanently lower the percentages used to calculate the amount of the tax credit, increasing the amount of financial assistance available to many consumers.
