Overview
The MATE Improvement Act amends the Controlled Substances Act to expand the list of organizations authorized to provide training to healthcare practitioners who prescribe controlled substances. Specifically, it adds the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Podiatric Medical Association, and other professional organizations to this list. It also broadens the types of practitioners exempt from the training requirement to include graduates of podiatric and pharmacy schools with relevant curriculum training.
