Overview
This bill establishes a new lodging tax in Washington County, Alabama. The tax will be four percent of the charge for rooms, motels, and other accommodations provided to transient visitors. Certain charges, such as sales of goods and services already taxed, and long-term rentals (30 days or more) are exempt. The county commission will be responsible for collecting and managing the tax revenue, which will be deposited into the county’s general fund.
