Overview
This bill would allow municipal law enforcement officers to enforce speed limits not just within a city’s corporate boundaries, but also within the broader police jurisdiction of the municipality. Currently, cities are only authorized to enforce speed limits within their city limits. This change would expand the scope of speed limit enforcement by local police departments, potentially increasing traffic safety across a wider area.
