Overview
This bill creates a state privilege tax of eight percent on the net gambling revenue generated by historical horse racing activities. This tax would replace any existing local taxes or fees currently levied on these activities. The Department of Revenue would collect the tax, and it’s designed to be exclusive of and supersede local taxes related to historical horse racing. The bill also repeals several existing local tax provisions related to pari-mutuel wagering.
