Overview
This bill amends Alabama’s manslaughter law to broaden the definition of the crime. Currently, it includes furnishing fentanyl to someone who dies as a result. The bill expands this to include furnishing any controlled substance that causes a recipient’s death. Additionally, the bill increases the penalty for this offense from a Class B felony to a Class A felony with a minimum sentence of life imprisonment.
