Overview
This bill establishes the Beginning Farmer and Succession Continuity Act to support the transfer of farmland to new farmers. It creates an income tax credit for landowners who sell or lease land to qualified beginning farmers, a state-backed loan guarantee program, and an assistance fund to administer these initiatives. The Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries will track program results and maintain an online registry to connect retiring farmers with those seeking to begin farming.
