Overview
This bill creates a program within the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries to provide financial assistance to family farms during times of economic hardship. It establishes a dedicated fund within the State Treasury and requires the Commissioner of Agriculture to administer the program, distributing bridge grants and revenue gap payments to eligible farms. The program will also require annual reporting to the Governor and Legislature, and the Department must create rules for administering the act.
