Bill overview
This bill amends Nevada’s Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS) to create an additional exemption for retired employees who take on full-time jobs with smaller cities or counties. Specifically, a retired member can continue receiving retirement benefits if they are hired for a full-time position in a city with a population under 25,000 or a county with a population under 100,000, provided certain conditions are met, including not having previously worked for that employer and the employer not having more than four other exempt retired members in similar positions. The employer would also contribute to the PERS at the standard rate for a full-time employee.
