Bill overview
This bill updates Nevada’s laws regarding bullying and cyberbullying in schools. It requires school administrators to immediately screen and assess reports of discrimination to determine if a violation has likely occurred. If a violation is suspected, the administrator must initiate an investigation following established procedures. The bill also allows a school board to assign a student who is a perpetrator of bullying to a different school at the request of their parent or guardian, and prohibits the victim and perpetrator from being assigned to the same school. Finally, it clarifies notification procedures for parents and guardians involved in reported incidents.
