Bill overview
This bill makes changes to how educational personnel are licensed in Nevada. It allows school districts and charter schools to hire teachers on a provisional basis for up to one year if they hold a license in another state and meet certain requirements. The bill also updates regulations for school counselors, school nurses, and school social workers, allowing them to provide support services while pursuing full licensure. Importantly, it eliminates the State Board of Education’s authority to disapprove of Commission regulations related to these professions.
