Bill overview
This bill expands the definition of ‘police officer’ in Nevada law to include a wider range of public safety personnel. It now includes school police officers, juvenile probation officers, court bailiffs and marshals, city marshals, and all category I, II, and III peace officers. Additionally, the bill extends certain benefits and protections currently available to police officers, such as industrial insurance, juror exemptions, and disability compensation, to these newly included categories. Finally, the bill appropriates funds for annual physicals for the Chief Parole and Probation Officer and Capitol Police officers.
