Bill overview
This bill revises Nevada’s tax exemptions for veterans and surviving spouses. It expands an existing exemption so that a surviving spouse of a veteran who receives a veteran’s property tax exemption is also entitled to that same exemption. The bill also maintains existing exemptions for veterans with service-connected disabilities and their surviving spouses, and clarifies how these exemptions interact with potential exemptions from governmental services taxes. It ensures that a surviving spouse who qualifies as both a veteran and the surviving spouse of a veteran with a service-connected disability can claim both veteran exemptions.
