Overview
This bill creates a new excuse from jury service based on having a developmental disability. It directs the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) to establish a list of individuals who are indefinitely excused from jury duty due to this disability. The AOC will develop eligibility guidelines and a process for individuals to apply for this exemption, requiring verification from a physician and other relevant information. Currently, individuals with developmental disabilities are not automatically excused from jury service.
