Bill overview
This bill would allow honorably discharged veterans who possess a placard issued by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission to be exempt from paying municipal parking meter fees. The exemption applies when the veteran is driving or a passenger in the vehicle, but not if the vehicle is parked for more than 24 hours at a single location. This legislation amends existing law to clarify and expand the existing parking fee exemption for veterans.
