Overview
This bill requires certain contractors in New Jersey, those obligated to pay prevailing wages under the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, to verify the employment eligibility of their new hires through the E-Verify program. The Department of Labor will establish a random auditing program to ensure compliance, and contractors found in violation could face civil penalties.
