Bill overview
This bill allows students in 12th grade who are currently enlisted in or planning to enlist in the Armed Forces of the United States or the National Guard to receive excused absences from school to complete required military enlistment activities. These absences will not be reflected on transcripts or attendance records, and will not be considered when calculating a student’s perfect attendance record. Students must provide documentation to their school to verify their eligibility for the excused absence.
