Overview
This bill establishes a preference for low and moderate income veterans in affordable housing developments and authorizes municipalities to receive bonus fair share credits for providing housing to veterans. It requires developers to offer at least 50% of affordable units to veterans, regardless of war service, and directs the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs to conduct outreach to veterans. The bill also modifies existing law to increase the credit municipalities receive for veteran-occupied affordable housing units.
