Bill overview
This bill provides tuition-free credits to retired law enforcement officers and firefighters, as well as their spouses and dependents, to attend courses at public or proprietary colleges. Eligible retirees must have retired due to a service-related disability and be enrolled in a degree program while also applying for available grants. The bill also extends this benefit to the dependent child or spouse of a law enforcement officer or firefighter who died in the line of duty, provided they meet certain residency and academic requirements.
