Bill overview
This bill requires the New Jersey State Police to establish a 24-hour, anonymous hotline for reporting potential threats to school safety and security. Anyone – students, parents, staff, or the public – can use the hotline to report concerns about unsafe activities, violence, or other threats. The State Police will maintain the confidentiality of reporters, sharing information with local law enforcement and school officials to facilitate prompt action. The hotline information will also be distributed to all schools in the state.
