Overview
This bill creates a new crime in New Jersey called ‘gang assault.’ It defines this crime as intentionally causing bodily injury to another person when two or more people are present and helping to commit the act. The injury can be inflicted on the initial target or a third party. A third-degree crime, gang assault carries a potential penalty of 3-5 years in prison, a fine up to $15,000, or both.
