Bill overview
This bill allows school bus drivers in New Jersey to administer epinephrine to students experiencing anaphylaxis under specific circumstances. Drivers must have written authorization from the student’s parent or guardian, a physician’s order, and the school district or school must inform parents of no liability for administering the medication. The driver must also be properly trained in epinephrine administration and volunteer to serve in this role. It also requires the school bus driver to provide a current, unexpired epinephrine auto-injector to the district.
