Bill overview
This bill requires the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) to conduct criminal history records checks on individuals serving as officials at interscholastic athletic events. Officials must submit their information for a check, which will be conducted by the State Bureau of Identification and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Individuals with criminal convictions on a list of disqualifying offenses will be prohibited from serving as officials.
