Bill overview
This bill prohibits individuals, state and local government agencies, and businesses from posting or publishing on the internet the home addresses or unpublished telephone numbers of members of the U.S. Armed Forces or the New Jersey National Guard, or their family members. It establishes criminal penalties for knowingly disclosing such information with the intent to cause harm or in reckless disregard of potential harm, and allows for civil lawsuits against those who violate the law. The bill also requires government agencies to obtain written consent before publishing this information.
