This bill requires the New Jersey Department of Health (DOH) to use a standardized survey, the Basic Screening Survey, to regularly assess the oral health of children across the state. The DOH will collect random data samples from each county twice a year, with informed consent from parents or guardians. The collected data will be used to formulate a general assessment of children’s oral health and reported biennially to the Governor and the Legislature, adhering to privacy laws.
