Bill overview
This bill requires New Jersey’s state-funded construction projects to use plastic construction materials that include a certain amount of postconsumer recycled content. Starting one year after the law’s enactment, projects must use plastic materials with at least 10% postconsumer recycled content, increasing to 15% for materials purchased after two years. The bill includes exemptions if using these materials would significantly increase costs or if suitable materials aren’t available.
