Bill overview
This bill changes how Nevada schools handle parental consent for sexual education courses. Instead of requiring parents to give consent for their children to participate, the bill now allows them to refuse authorization. Schools must provide a form for parents to opt-out and notify them of this right at least four weeks before the course begins. The form can also be available online, and it must clearly state that parents can withdraw their consent at any time during the school year.
