Bill overview
This bill updates Nevada’s rules for public works projects to ensure fair labor practices. It requires contractors and subcontractors working on public projects to pay prevailing wages, including for custom fabrication work. The bill also mandates that bidders certify that workers involved in custom fabrication will be paid prevailing wages and ensures that nonstandard materials used in public works are sourced locally. There are exceptions for contracts awarded before January 1, 2026, and for projects undertaken by the Tahoe-Douglas Visitor’s Authority.
