Bill overview
This bill revises the Nevada Educational Choice Scholarship Program by increasing the amount of tax credits available to taxpayers who donate to scholarship organizations. Specifically, it boosts the annual tax credit limit from $6.655 million to $30 million for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 and 110% of the previous year's amount for subsequent years. It also establishes a similar tax credit for insurers who donate to scholarship organizations. The bill expands the criteria for pupils eligible for scholarships to include siblings of current recipients, pupils with IEPs, and those with guardians in the military or as peace officers/firefighters, and increases the minimum grant amount to $1,000.
