Bill overview
This bill restricts how early intervention program service providers can bill patients. Specifically, it prevents providers from issuing bills more than one year after the services were provided and from attempting to collect on bills issued more than a year after the service date. The bill also addresses situations where a patient’s health benefits plan denies or partially reimburses a claim, preventing providers from billing the patient for the remaining balance if the claim was submitted more than one year or 18 months after the service date. This aims to protect families from unexpected medical bills related to early intervention services.
