Overview
This bill amends the NJ STARS Program to allow students who receive equivalent instruction outside of traditional school settings, such as home-schooled students, to qualify for scholarships. It expands eligibility for the first year of college enrollment, requiring students to meet academic criteria established by the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority. Students receiving equivalent instruction will be eligible starting in the 2018-2019 academic year, and will be evaluated based on their academic performance.
